2017 Events

May 28: PA Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Pittsburgh Pirates partnered for the 3rd Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Night at PNC Park before and during the 8 p.m. game against the New York Mets. Pregame activities included a resource fair on Federal Street, and a special ceremony featuring the Pirates 2017 Public Service Announcement in support of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s “NO MORE” campaign. The recipient of the NO MORE Male Leadership award was also recognized.

June 1-30: Consumer Health Coalition and the Health Committee for People with Disabilities promoted the Pledge at a series of community meetings and events, specifically focused on addressing the high rates of abuse against people with disabilities.

June: Allegheny Intermediate Unit held a pledge signing in their central office building.

June 2: HAVIN hosted a pledge signing event and has taken the Pledge poster to events throughout the summer

June 7: East End Cooperative Ministry held a pledge signing at their staff meeting

June 10:  Pledge signing at ManUp Pittsburgh 2017, a conference produced by Urban Impact. It was a day of worship, prayer, dynamic breakout sessions for more than 1,500 Christian men

June 12: YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Center for Race and Gender Equity hosted an education/engagement table in the lobby of its downtown office to promote the Father’s Day Pledge.

June 13: Alice Paul House collaborated with a local church for a domestic violence focus group and Father’s Day Pledge signing event

June 13: YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Center for Race and Gender Equity hosted an education/engagement table with Rotary students at La Roche College to promote the Father’s Day Pledge.

June 14: Pressley Ridge hosted a Father’s Day Pledge Signing event for staff

June 15: ALCOSAN hosted a pledge signing event for employees

June 15: Pledge signing at Allegheny Family Network’s Celebration of Fatherhood

June 15: YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Center for Race and Gender Equity hosted an education/engagement table in the lobby of its Homewood office to promote the Father’s Day Pledge.

June 16: YWCA hosted a pledge signing event for employees and visitors

June 16 (noon- 1 p.m.): The Third Annual Father’s Day Pledge Signing Ceremony took place at the Allegheny County Courthouse Courtyard to showcase the region’s leaders who are standing up and speaking out against gender violence. Learn more here.

June 16-18: The Allegheny County Bar Association hosted a Father’s Day Pledge signing for attorneys and judges at the 54th annual Bench-Bar conference at Seven Springs Mountain Resort.

June 17: Family Resources Parent Council Outreach Event and Father’s Day Pledge Signing

June 18 (game at 5:05 p.m.): Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA partnered with the Washington Wild Things for a pregame ceremony and Father’s Day Pledge signing at Wild Things Park. Attendees got a chance to tell DVSSP why they say NO MORE to domestic violence, alongside leaders from the community.

June 22: YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Center for Race and Gender Equity hosted an education/engagement table to promote the Father’s Day Pledge with its Advisory Committee

June 24: Pledge signing at the Fatherhood Collaborative Council of Western PA’s Health and Wellness Fair

June 26: Fatherhood Collaborative Council of Western PA’s luncheon symposium: Father engagement affects child development

June 27: Fatherhood Collaborative Council of Western PA’s annual outing to a Pittsburgh Pirates game
