HAVIN Prevention Programs
HAVIN, like many of the other victim service agencies, seeks to offer primary prevention programs based in research. However, best practice programs are often quite long (8-12 sessions) and many schools and community groups are unable to accommodate the intensity, given other schedule demands. Currently, HAVIN offers Safe Dates, as a best practice program in high schools. Other, shorter, programs have been developed to meet community requests, though these programs have not been rigorously evaluated to demonstrate effectiveness.
HAVIN currently provides a range of other customizable programs for Armstrong County social service agencies, churches, community groups, law enforcement, professional organizations and schools.Topics include:
- Acquaintance and Date Rape
