SPHS Care Center STTARS Program

STTARS, like many of the other victim service agencies, seeks to offer primary prevention programs based in research. However, best practice programs are often quite long (8-12 sessions) and many schools and community groups are unable to accommodate the intensity, given other schedule demands. Other, shorter, programs have been developed to meet community requests, though these programs have not been rigorously evaluated to demonstrate effectiveness (such as Girl Power, In Touch with Teens, sexual harassment prevention, self-esteem, and risk reduction for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities).

The following best practice programs are offered:
