HAVIN

Executive Director Jo Ellen Bowman, Armstrong County, talks about the exceptional response and collaboration with its sister programs in Allegheny County amid the pandemic  – in fact, they have been shining stars in this process!

“For HAVIN – Helping All Victims In Need – we continually work with our shelter guests to help them move forward and live a life free from violence, which often includes permanent housing. With concerns about communal living with Covid-19, we feel more pressured to limit the number of people in our emergency shelter and help them transition out of shelter. We have had an exceptional response working with sister programs in Allegheny County. Covid-19 has not interfered with our collaboration, in fact they have been shining stars in this process! Domestic Violence Programs are always here!”

The mission of HAVIN Inc. is to provide supportive services and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and their significant others; to increase public awareness, and effect critical changes in public policy in response to sexual and domestic violence.

The HAVIN hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for crisis counseling and information and referral:  1-800-841-8881.
